About the Scholarship
European Global Gateway Scholarship on Water Professions
Team Europe has demonstrated strong support for Cambodia's water sector, particularly through its involvement in the Bakheng Water Treatment Plants, which now daily provides clean drinking water to nearly half of Phnom Penh's population.
In its effort to support human resources in water professions, the European Union in Cambodia commits to fully finance a total of 30 full scholarships (tuition, health insurance, stipend and other benefits) to qualified Cambodians to earn a full degree -at Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD’s- in a European university in topics related to water.
The European Global Gateway Scholarships will be instrumental to form a cohort of Europe-qualified professionals to serve the investments of European Financing institutions and European private companies, the Cambodian government, universities, training institutions and local water authorities in view of providing clean drinking water to the Cambodian population.
